This blog is all about products that I like. Well, pretty much anything that I think other people would like. From basics like shampoo and cleaning products to technology and even brick-and-mortar stores. I have realized that many blogs out there are just people complaining (my personal blog sometimes fits in the ‘complaining’ category). I wanted to do something a little bit different.
I am a thirty-something mother of two awesome girls, age 3 and 5. I am a Pittsburgher. My husband and I, along with his brother and wife, own a restaurant in Robinson Township, PA called Downey’s House. I really like my laptop. Aside from working in the restaurant every now and again to do things like pay the bills and do payroll, I basically stay at home with my kids. I am learning lots of things about having a presence on the internet. I am trying to make money from home. It has been an interesting ride. I currently have stores on CafePress and Zazzle (see below). I started designing t shirts and other gifts late in 2006. But I really started realizing that I could make some money at it about half way through 2007. And that’s when I started putting some effort into it. Am I making a living on the internet right now? No. But I am making some extra cash, and I think that I am on my way to making a living at it.
I also have started dabbling in affiliate marketing. In fact, some (but not all) of the products on this blog will have an affiliate code embedded in the link. If you would then purchase something from whatever online retailer I may have sent you to, they send me a commission. I think I’ve made 50 bucks this year doing this, so I’m obviously a rookie.
